5-4-3-2-1 and BFD

Hey guys!! I’ve had a nice day today!! I hope you have too!

Around 11am, it was time for my run! Since the temp was still in the 20’s, I decided it was too cold and did my run on the treadmill. AGAIN. I have actually grown to LIKE the treadmill more since I’ve been doing a lot more runs on it. I feel like I can really push myself!! But, I really miss my outside runs. That’s what makes me love running so much!! It’s supposed to be back in the 40’s next week, so hopefully I can get some good long runs in then!! But for now, I’m stuck to the treadmill. Today, I did one of my favorite Fartleck runs!! It’s really easy, here’s how I did it:

5-4-3-2-1 Fartleck Run

  • 1 mile warm-up 6.0mph
  • 5 minutes 6.5mph
  • 90 seconds recovery 5.8mph
  • 4 minutes 6.5mph
  • 90 seconds recovery 5.8mph
  • 3 minutes 6.5mph
  • 90 seconds recovery 5.8mph
  • 2 minutes 6.5mph
  • 90 seconds recovery 5.8mph
  • 1 minute 6.5mph
  • 90 seconds recovery 5.8mph
  • 5 minutes 6.5mph
  • 90 seconds recovery 5.8mph
  • 4 minutes 6.5mph
  • 90 seconds recovery 5.8mph
  • 0.25 cool-down 6.0mph
  • Total 5 miles

You can definitely change up the speed to hit your pace, but this workout was awesome!! Tough, but I felt really strong the entire time! I was sweating bullets by the time I was finished! One good thing about the treadmill is that I can run in shorts and a tank top! My favorite! Sometimes, I feel all the layers for cold weather are so restricting! I guess that’s the point though! Ha!

A little while after my run, it was lunch time. I was really craving veggies today!!

005

I had a big old salad that contained:

  • Romaine lettuce
  • Spinach
  • Tomatoes
  • Raisins
  • Kidney Beans
  • Annie’s Goddess Dressing (this stuff is really good!!)

006

I also had some leftover Butternut Squash and Potatoes from last night and an orange. Ketchup on the potatoes, natch!!

This was a GREAT lunch!! And one I felt really good about eating too!

I had class this afternoon and decided I really wanted a Starbucks Chai Latte!! So, I swung by Starbucks and got a Tall Soy Chai Latte!!

007

Love their Valentine’s cups! I think they should ALWAYS look like this!!

Yum! Don’t worry, I was in the parking lot :)  I decided to get Soymilk today and am glad I did!! It goes great with Chai!! I’ve had some weird tummy issues with Soymilk in the past, but I’m happy to report no such issues today!! Yay!!

During class I had an un-pictured Jolly Rancher lollipop and a mini Snickers. They always have candy for us on Thursdays :)

I was really hungry when I got home from class, so I snacked on some Wheat Thins and Hummus while I mixed up dinner. On the menu tonight: BFD!!! Love Breakfast for Dinner!! For some reason I was really craving toast and jelly!!

009

I made an egg scramble that contained:

  • 1 egg and 1 egg white
  • Spinach
  • 1 shallot, chopped

I also had leftover Butternut Squash and potatoes, and a sandwich thin with a tiny bit of butter and Smuckers Grape Simply Fruit spread. Potatoes and eggs topped with ketchup!! If you haven’t noticed, I love ketchup!!

This was a GREAT BFD dinner!! I’m still a bit hungry, so I may have some yogurt and cereal in a bit!!

So, I think I have decided on our honeymoon hotel for San Francisco, but I am stuck between 3 choices for Napa! I’m having the hardest time deciding!! The one I really want is the most expensive (of course) by about $300, but is the most “Napa-like”. It also is the most upscale and fancy. The other 2 are really nice too, and are around the same price. One has a full kitchen in it and a whirlpool spa tub and the other came recommended by Caitlin. I really like them all, which makes it such a hard decision!!

So my question to y’all is, do you normally spend a little more on a hotel room for the “experience” or do you save the money and go for the cheaper not as upscale hotel?? Also, take into consideration this is our HONEYMOON! I’m just not sure if we should spend more money on the hotel room or use it to do other stuff!! Thanks for your thoughts!!

I am currently waiting for Grey’s and Private Practice to come on! Do y’all watch these? I love basically EVERY medical drama! Haha, even though they are totally NOT like real life!!

Have a great night!!

  1. I love love love Soy Chai Tea Lattes! yummmm! Great job on your run! I think when you mix up your speed it really helps pass the time!

  2. I would recommend that you stay at the nice hotel room, because if you stay at the not as nice hotel you will be disapointed and that will ruin your attitude for all of the activities you might have planned!!

  3. Great blog girl! I agree about starbucks, the cups are precious and should always have look like that! Annies Goddess dressing is incredible! I love the goddess dressing at pizza fusion too!

  4. I would splurge for your honeymoon:) You probably won't get to go on another big vacation for a while, so I would definitely get a nice room. Yall will be spending lots of time there (couldn't resist)!
