Oats Are Back!

Happy Saturday!!

I am so happy it’s the weekend, and I don’t have a test to study for!! I will be doing some reading for school though, but not like last weekend where I was stuck inside studying the whole time!!

The theme of my morning has been : RELAX! I woke up around 7am and laid in bed catching up on blogs, then went and made some breakfast and have been relaxing on the couch! Love mornings like this! I am totally digging pushing my runs back until lunch time! That way I get to enjoy my mornings!! I will be sad when it gets too hot to do this and I will have to be up at the crack of dawn to run. But right now, I’m loving it!!

Sadie says “hi” and that she’s relaxing this morning also!! But really, when is she not relaxing?!?



I am so happy to say that Oats are back this morning!! I have been missing them, since I ran out a couple days ago!! I tried a little something new though…


I picked up some Unsweetened Almond Breeze to try at the store yesterday! It’s basically ground up almonds that make a milk. It tastes pretty yummy and is a great substitute for milk, especially if milk doesn’t tend to agree with you! Now, I love milk and have never had any issues, but I am totally open to trying new things and I love variety!! I really enjoy the taste of this almond milk, and for half the calories of a cup of milk, that’s good in my book! Do y’all use any milk substitutes? I love the way Soymilk tastes but it hurts my tummy :( Weird right??


I used it in my Oats this morning, substituting 2/3 cup Almond Breeze for 1/3 skim milk and 1/3 water. It was very yummy! Not a huge difference in taste, but I think it was a bit creamier! I topped my Oats with mashed banana, blueberries, coconut, and PB! This was one good breakfast!


I also picked up some new coffee to try. I am a big flavored coffee person, and have heard really good things about Dunkin Donuts coffee, so I decided to try it! The verdict: Awesome! Would definitely buy this again!!


How do you like your coffee? I rotate between black and with a tiny bit of cream. Right now I am using cream because I have it in my refrigerator!!


I was a slacker yesterday and didn’t get to my workout. I knew I should have woken up early and not reset my alarm!! Oh well… Sometimes I feel like if I’m not running that day, I don’t get a very good workout in. I can run and run for hours, but when it comes to weights or other workouts, I get a little bored and push them to the side. Anyone else feel this way? If this keeps happening, I am just going to go back to running 5 days a week instead of 4. But, I REALLY want to get into strength training, especially so I can have awesome arms/ back for my wedding!! Any suggestions or good strength training workouts that you like??

I have a 6 miler to do today in my new shoes!! I’m just hoping the rain holds off until later this afternoon so I can get it in outside!!

  1. I am also one of those individuals that really enjoys running, but hates doing weights at the gym. I personally find it so boring to work with weights at the gym.

    I just finished up my first carton and will be picking up a fresh one at the store tomorrow - can't wait!
